Our Process for Biohazard Detailing

We know life can get messy, and whether it is one of your pets, or you are just sick and having a bad day, accidents can happen. We have cleaned up many biohazards such as pet urine and vomit here at Autodetail DMV. Here is our process for cleaning them, and why we charge more for biohazard detailing.

Our Process For Interior Details With Biohazards

For biohazards, we use an enzyme cleaner. Think of it like this. The enzyme cleaner suffocates/ kills most of the bacteria, then we use our steam cleaner to kill the remaining bacteria. The process may be repeated depending on the severity of the biohazard.

What is an Enzyme Cleaner?

An enzyme cleaner is a specialized cleaning solution that harnesses the power of enzymes to effectively remove biohazards from various surfaces in vehicles. Enzymes are natural proteins that act as catalysts, speeding up chemical reactions. In the case of an enzyme cleaner, these enzymes are specifically designed to break down organic matter, such as blood, urine, vomit, and other biohazards commonly found in vehicles.

How an Enzyme Cleaner Works

When an enzyme cleaner is applied to a biohazard, it works by targeting and breaking down the molecular structure of the organic matter. The enzymes in the cleaner attach themselves to the biohazard molecules and initiate a chemical reaction that breaks them down into smaller, more manageable components. This process is known as enzymatic digestion. As the enzymes continue to work, they break down the biohazard into simpler substances, such as water and carbon dioxide, which can be easily wiped away or vacuumed.

Advantages of Using an Enzyme Cleaner for Biohazards

One of the key advantages of using an enzyme cleaner is its ability to effectively eliminate biohazards without leaving behind any harmful residues or strong chemical odors. Unlike traditional cleaning agents that may mask the odor or simply remove the surface layer of the biohazard, an enzyme cleaner ensures a thorough and deep cleaning. It not only removes the visible traces of the biohazard but also eliminates the underlying source of the odor. This makes enzyme cleaners a preferred choice for auto detailers when dealing with biohazardous situations, as they provide a safe and efficient solution for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment inside vehicles.

After we have fully removed and sanitized the biohazard, we will then go through our normal Full Interior Detail Process.
